Segreto Organic Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2008 (Italy)
Segreto Organic Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Segreto is a fine artisanal olive oil produced in the mountain village of Caltabellotta, Sicily. Caltabellotta’s location and climate are so unique, the area has produced its own variety of olive, the Buscionetta, also known as the Biancolilla di Caltabellotta. Grown on family farms and harvested by hand while still green, these olives produce an oil famous throughout Italy.

Segreto is unfiltered and has a vivid green color and an elegant scent. The taste is delicate with notes of freshly cut grass, a hint of artichoke and unripe tomato, and slightly spicy finish. We found this oil to be mild and buttery, wonderful for bread dipping and for dressing salads. Secreto is also a designated “Agricoltura Biologica” or “Certified Organic” product.
